9 Easy to Make Healthy Salads

Salad is the most easy and healthiest dish that not only helps one to keep his/her calories intake in check and also provides the required fibre. With the aid of a good salad dressing and addition of some carbs, a complete meal can be prepared in no time. Some easy recipes are described here under:

  1. Spicy Beet and Carrot Salad:
    Grate carrots and beetroot together. Add few cloves of minced garlic. Put all the ingredients together and add 1/4th cup of water and microwave until the carrots-beet root become tender. Cool the bowl and drain the excess water. Toss this salad with lemon juice, olive oil, salt, red chilli flakes and oregano.
  1. Ceaser salad
    A classic ceaser salad is mix of romaine lettuce and croutons dressed with parmesan cheese, lemon juice, olive oil, egg, Worcestershire sauce, anchovies, garlic, and black pepper.
  1. Chickpea salad
    Boil the chickpeas and toss them with cut tomatoes, onions and hebs. Add olive oil and lemon with salt and pepper.
  1. Bacon and Kidney bean salad
    Cook bacon and red kidney beans separately. Once the bacon is cooked, cut it into small pieces and mix with boiled beans. Add tobasco sauce, salt and chilli. Dress the plate with lettuce leaves and spread the mixture. Garnish with cut tomatoes, green, yellow and red bell peppers.
  1. Pasta salad
    Boil the pasta. Cut cherry tomatoes into halves.  Toss the pasta with some pre-cooked pasta sauce, tomatoes, tofu, yellow and green bell pepper. Add salt, chilli, olive oil, cilantro, garlic juice and oregano.
  1. Fruit salad
    Cut available seasonal fruits. Add lemon as dressing.
  1. Waldorf salad
    A classic Waldorf salad is a salad made of fresh apples, celery, peanut and walnuts, dressed in mayonnaise, and served on a bed of lettuce.
  1. Red and Green salad
    Toss red radish, cucumber, tomatoes and lettuce leaves in a bowl. Add olive oil for dressing.
  1. Egg salad
    Hard-boil the eggs. Peel and cut into halves. Toss them with parsley leaves, carrots, tomatoes and spring onions. Add salt and pepper to taste with drizzle of olive oil.
